Community Foundation of Acadiana Invites Pre-Applications for Fund for Gulf Communities
The Community Foundation of Acadiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, is accepting pre-applications for its Fund for Gulf Communities grant cycle.
The fund was established to benefit nonprofit and faith-based organizations working to help improve the lives of individuals, families, and children and to strengthen communities affected by the 2010 BP oil spill.
The fund will make grants of $50,000 to $250,000 to 501(c)(3) nonprofit and faith-based organizations working to assist individuals and families affected by the oil spill in Acadia, Cameron, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion parishes.
Funding will be given to organizations that offer programs in the areas of Mental Health & Wellness, Social Services & Financial Security, and Youth Resiliency. Special attention will be given to organizations whose programs serve diverse populations and those directly affected by the spill — especially fisherman, seafood industry workers, oil and gas industry workers, families, and others.
